Ashleigh and Adrian stood in front of their closest loved ones at The Sensory in Canmore with a beautiful mountain backdrop. “Adrian, you are a mountain of a man, my best friend, and my lifelong love,” Ashleigh told her soon-to-be husband. “I vow to be a safe space for your secrets and your vulnerabilities. I vow to play video games with you for the rest of my life, to love you as the man you are today and the man you are going to be,” she vowed.
“ I never would have imagined that I could love someone enough to move to another country. But now I'm sure I'd move to another world for you,” Adrian responded to his bride. “I promise to put the health of our relationship before anything else. I'll continue giving you my first drink of every soda, the first bite of every cake, and to make sure I fill up your car every time you leave it on empty for me. No matter the challenges we may face, I'll give you 100% of my love until my skin begins to wrinkle and my life begins to fade. Ash, I'm gonna love you forever, and I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with you,” he vowed.
Ashleigh and Adrian said their vows in a beautiful and intimate location, surrounded by Gorgeous blooms from Willow Flower Co. and picture-perfect decor from Mountain Event Rentals. The day was magical from start to finish, and the entire thing was captured by Black & White Photo + Film. The love that these two share is uplifting beyond belief, and we were so honoured to take part in their wedding day.
Message from the Bride
“When my fiancé (now husband) and I got engaged, we knew that a wedding planner was something we needed. At the time, I was a full-time immunology student who was studying for the MCAT exam and working as an independent biology researcher. Due to my busy lifestyle and my ADHD, I understood the difficulties I would have planning our wedding in the Canadian Rockies with our entire guest list living in other parts of Canada or globally. I connected quite quickly with Ashley and when COVID-19 changed our world, Ashley was with us every step of the way. There was constant changes with our wedding including our dates and budget. With changes in venues, florals, and so much more, Ashley dealt directly with all of the vendors. She would spend hours with me on the phone and gave me her professional advice when I needed it. She looked at my Pinterest boards and talked me through some hard decisions we had to make because of the pandemic. On October 30th, 2021, my wedding day, Ashley made sure that any issues that occurred happened without me noticing. There was an issue with the cake at 3am the night before. Ashley was able to resolve the issue in that short time and to my surprise at the reception sat a cake designed exactly like the one on my Pinterest board. The venue came up to me on our wedding day and told me they could not find our deposit, and before I could turn into a bridezilla Ashley handled everything! Our wedding turned out so smoothly and in all honestly, I whole heartily believe that it was Ashley who made that happen. I received so many compliments on how lovely our wedding was and I kept saying, “it was Ashley… it was my wedding planner”.
The day after our wedding, I met with Ashley and told her that I understood our professional relationship has come to an end, yet because we have stayed connected for so many years trying to plan my wedding, I can’t help but feel that I am losing a friend. She agreed and what once started as a professional agreement between a bride-to-be and a well-organized and professional wedding planner, turned into a friendship that I will cherish for the rest of my life. We still stay connected to this day.
